This year has seenprolongeddry spells inmost of the coffee
growing areas. The areas of Masaka andWesternUganda,
currently thebiggest producers of coffee, werehardest hit. This
impacted the coffee at flowering stage (i.e. abortion of flowers);
at the fillingof theberries stage (i.e., poor filling); and has
therefore negatively impactedcoffee yield ingeneral.
