eingnew in the area, the locals directed us to the
facility. This coffeegiant is not only abig investment
but a tourist attraction siteof sorts. Every visitor to
this not-much infrastructuredevelopedmunicipality, one is
easily drawn tomarvel at this coffeeplant.
Machinery at the sitewas in actionprocessing the new
crop. Energeticandmotivated employeeswithcasual
laborers alikeoffereduswelcoming smileswithwillingness
to stop their busy schedules and respond to our questions.
Even thepoorest of keenobserverswill not miss out on
the neatness of theworkingenvironment, thenumerous
accolades earnedby this plant that decorate the reception
lounge andmore importantly theSafetymeasures put in
place to safeguard theworkers duringoperations.
Wehad togrudgingly accept to stick to our primary
objective of visiting farmers rather than telling the story of
theplant and off wewere led to the coffeeplantations of
two very good story telling farmers kilometers away from
theplant. Herewe reproduce the interactions at the farms
verbatim.
